We’re sad to hear today about the death of our comrade and friend Barney (Bernard) Morgan. Bernard’s mother was Rose Ann Morgan’s (née Murphy) of Cumann na mBan Liverpool, was stationed at the GPO during Easter week where she acted as a courier for Rising. Barney was a lifelong socialist and republican having been heavily involved on a local and national basis with the Connolly Association from a very young age. Barney was also a lifelong patron of both the Irish Centre at Mount Pleasant and todays Irish Centre On Boundary Road, Everton. Most people will have known Barney through his regular Sunday paper sale of the Connolly Associations Irish Democrat Newspaper. Barney’ passing is a huge loss to us all and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. Funeral details to follow..
